"Copy to CD" option is not available in My Pictures folder

If you are using Windows XP, you may have a digital camera as well and use the My Pictures folder to store your digital images. On the side menu, you can view the images as a slide show, order prints online, print pictures, and copy the images to CD.

Sometimes, however, the option for "Copy to CD" has disappeared. Follow the directions below to correct this issue when this option does not show on the Picture Tasks menu.

1). Check to see if the CD-RW or DVD-RW is functioning properly.

~Right-click on My Computer
~Click on Properties
~Click on Hardware
~Click on Device Manager
~Click the plus (+) next to CD/DVD Drives and make sure the drive is functioning properly. If it has a yellow checkmark next to the drive, this is the cause of the problem. You'll need to right click on the drive, click on Properties and check the device status under the General tab to see why the drive is having difficulty.

2) If the drive is functioning properly, examine these other options

~Open My Computer
~Right click on the CD-RW or DVD-RW drive and click on Properties
~Click on the Recording tab
~In the Desktop CD Recording section, make sure the "Enable CD recording on this drive" is checked, if it isnt check the box. This is the problem.

This should resolve the problem, and you should have the "Copy to CD" option available again.
